Quick Start

Start Using Smoke Signal in Less Than Five Minutes.

To start using Smoke Signal, visit the login page: https://smokesignal.events/oauth/login

The login page

Enter your fully qualified "@handle" into the form and submit it. If you signed up with Bluesky, it will look like "username.bsky.social".

The OAuth Consent Page

You'll be redirected to your PDS to give consent to the Smoke Signal application to authenticate on your behalf. Accept and be redirected back to https://smokesignal.events/.

Finding Events

You can browse events on the home page under the "Upcoming" and "Created" tabs.

  • "Upcoming" shows events in order of when they start, beginning with today.
  • "Created" shows events in order of when they were created, starting with the most recent.

You can use the search feature to find events using words or phrases from event titles and descriptions.

You can also use the search box to navigate directly to individual people and events by entering the AT-URI or handle.

For example, to go to the events created by https://bsky.app/profile/smokesignal.events, any of the following queries will work:

  • @smokesignal.events
  • at://did:plc:tgudj2fjm77pzkuawquqhsxm

To jump to an individual event, use the event AT-URI like:

  • at://did:plc:tgudj2fjm77pzkuawquqhsxm/events.smokesignal.calendar.event/3kxbvxj7blk2t
